One city that really encapsulates this is Multan the capital of South Punjab and the city of saints and mystics or ‘Madinat-ul-Auliya.’ However although the city may be known for its plethora of Sufi shrines today its history goes back almost 6000 years and was conquered by Alexander the Great in 326 BC.
